About us: We met at our first job after college where we were part of a large circle of friends. We've been married sixteen years and look forward to many more together. Our relationship is built on friendship and one of its strengths is how supportive we are of each other. Having a family has always been important to us, and in 2003, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lauren, through an open adoption. The joy Lauren has brought to our lives is more than we could have ever imagined. We are still in contact with some of Lauren's birthfamily and want the contact in our next adoption to be one that everyone is comfortable with.
About Sandy…by Scott: Sandy is the kind of person you meet for the first time and swear you’ve known her forever. Her outgoing personality and ability to successfully handle new challenges make her a great mom. Sandy is a stay-at-home Mom and enjoys her time with Lauren, whether at home, at playgroup or one of their many outings. Sandy enjoys so many different things, from sewing and baking to rugby (which she played in college) that I know she'll support whatever activities our children become involved with.
About Scott…by Sandy: Scott is the HR director for a manufacturing company. Although serious about work, he is a big kid at heart. He loves all sports and games and can often be found on the floor playing with Lauren and our dog, Jack. It melts my heart when I am not in the room with them, but can still hear Scott and Lauren’s laughter from a silly song, story or game. I look forward to hearing another child’s voice added to the mix. I admire Scott’s patience and ever-present encouraging words, just a few of the traits that make him a great Dad.
About Lauren: Lauren is a three-year old who loves dancing and singing, animals, princesses, movies and building things. Her giving spirit comes through when she is the first to share anything, except maybe snacks, with her friends. She is excited to have a little brother or sister. We think she has excellent big sister potential!
About Jack: We adopted Jack from the S.P.C.A. 12 years ago. He is a Jack Russell Terrier mix that loves to go for walks, play ball, share animal crackers with Lauren, and occasionally ride with Lauren on our bike rides.
